Sh*t countryside looks like South Cayuga Ont in early spring

Very interesting.
Now, I wonder why Chernobyl is not spelled Chornobyl as that would correspond to what's on the signs in Ukrainian/Russian?
And, would Chornobyl not mean Blackwhite?

No, it does not. Chernobyl/Chornobyl - comes from black territory/forrest(not sure about the exact definition and source of "byl" - ?).

It's probably transliterated Chernobyl indeed
It's spelled Чернобыль in Russian, and Ukrainian spelling you can see on teh signs.
I guess you could split it into "Cherno" "byl" which would mean a "black true story", or "black grass" in Russian. It's actually a name of a plant, as the rider mentions in one of her notes.

This one is a *Writer* Minor syntax errors just vanish; clearly her thinking vocabulary is uncommonly rich - for even many '04 Murican speakers quite older than herself. Every time I pass through a check point, I am trying to realise what I feel being in a dead zone. This is new feeling. Villages, roads, woods here might look the same as beyond zone, but they are not the same. It feels like you steped inside of the picture. Everthing is not real, like painted.
