I obtained a firmware upgrade & now the unit works all the time except with the upgrade, my older PCMCIA card no longer works (but who cares).

The unit is now the main one at home.

PS will be setting up an 802.11a wifi network at home using multiple Proxim access points (now very cheap) will write about result once done (about 3-4 more weeks away - am moving house in 2 weeks)
