Y has a bounce message that goes back to person Z, rather than X. Unless you have reason to believe that that account could be compromised, I would ignore it. Here, Road Runner makes it a policy not to notify the sender of a detected virus email in the belief it is not likely to be the real originator. The sanitized version is passed on to you, however. This reduces pointless traffic. Obviously some ISPs/users have a different philosophy.
