What was the first Linux distro?
Yggdrasil? Slackware?
Any ideas?
Thanks, Me

SLS
Confirmed: [link|http://slacksite.com/slackware/|http://slacksite.com/slackware/] Slackware is one of the oldest distributions of Linux, originally based on the first Linux distribution, SLS. Muah, I ran SLS, too. Still have the diskettes, in fact.

Right!
I was going to say "Slackware!" but I see you already did.
I didn't know it but a friend did. (I didn't even know about Linux until Petrely mentioned it, about 1995-6.)

Still looks like SW was the first "real" distro
..in the sense of having a real form with a widespread footprint.

Actually no
..I don't, not for at least 9 months since I haven't applied - wouldn't have done any good anyway, I'll be in the streets before then.

You don't get it
You can't receive or apply for anything without an address. You have to go homeless, get taken in by a shelter if you're lucky (men aren't lucky), and let them handle it.
I'm not pulling anything but my hair.

Unix/Linux history.
Detailed.

Although [link|http://bob.hentges.lu/html/articles/en/linux_timeline.html|this] says that SLS was the first standalone Linux install.
If I remember correctly, SLS was the first one to include X as well (which is why I started using it).
