Did you notice how quick Yassar was to condemn the action ("we had nothing to do with this"), to give blood, etc... He knew then that his life's work was over. Not saying that he didn't have many valid points and "blessed" are the peacemakers, etc... But, have you been reading the news lately? Israel has told him and his crew that they will become bombing targets if they can't get their circus in order.
Back to your point... I think Washington might just turn a blind eye to Israel, our strongest true ally in the region, deciding it wants to "help" us rid the world of countries that sponsor terrorism. In fact, I have thought from the moment I heard our government say those words that I could hear the nudge nudge wink wink Israel, do what you need to do... Again, I could be misinterpretting this, but I really think that Israel's "expansion" into Syria and Lebanon was a given. This move will bring our old friend Iraq back into the picture and "force" us to go there and help our ally. All pretty logical. This would also have the effect of bringing the terrorist "swarm" out of their stinking nests where they can be exterminated with extreme prejudice (just gotta love that euphymism!)
We'll see. In the meantime, watch how Washington reacts or doesn't to the current situation with the assassination in Israel. This could easily tip the hand.
