New would compete lot less with a
shuttle high end chip and ram, vga to catv to 55 inch hdtv monitor with enough left over for a network monitoring program that includes HBO. Your configuration just allows perl programs to error out faster,

I was assigned to a floundering project. It was based on a Sun 3500. Poorly configured, 2 CPUs, low disk. Was just stupid. Lots of really bad code too.

After many failed productions, taking many hours to get to that point, I said I reguired faster equipment. A V880 would be nice.

When asked if that would fix the problem, I said:

No. It'll allow us to find the fuck-ups faster.
