It's a real virus. Just started showing up (and updates are just coming out from the AV vendors). Maybe Yahoo's scanner is down while they update (though that does seem rather lame).

So what is it?

-Damn, a new virus.
-Damn, a spam/virus posing as a message from Yahoo.
-Damn, Yahoo's scanner is down just when you need it.

It's more patently, stupidly obvious virus spam - people DESERVE to be infected by it if they believe shit like this.

Can't the stupid virospameunkies come up with something original? Moderately similar to something real? If they have to be such dirtbags, can't they at least do it with cleverness and elan? These aren't Klingons, they're flaccid Cardasians with a metabolic disorder.

How stupid ARE people?

The ones I've been getting make reference to it being a Unicode message packaged in an attachment or some such tripe.

I assumed you were actually using Yahoo mail. Were you, or is this another variant on the virus message?

Yes, but the mail domain is "yahoo-inc.com" - is there a drone on the planet that would think this real? Then the body of the attached message is from "customer.service@westernunion.uk.co" - ARGH!

I do use Yahoo mail as my Internet fecal matter deflection account. It has excellent filters.

New I've got a message that
my checking account's FDIC protection is being revoked because I violated parts of Patriot Act. From somebody at att.net, no less. I think that's original enough.
