They like `em a little loony, but not *that* loony. There's a reason why the words "lunatic" and "fringe" are frequently juxtaposed.
This playing on war anxiety doesn't seem to be giving him enough traction. And it's running into massive sales resistance. Maybe people still remember LBJ and his scare tactics against Goldwater. And what kind of Commander in Chief LBJ turned out to be.
I say better a politican who admits he's going to lead us into war than one who [link|http://www.angelfire.com/ca3/marlowe/appeasement.html|claims he can avoid it]. War happens whether we want it or not, and the longer you put it off, the nastier it will be when it comes. You either fight to win, or you lose.
