That story seems strangely incomplete. I wonder why he was carrying that sign in that place at that time. Seems like elementary reporting missed a beat.

Well unless things have changed
one is much more likely to "get filled in" in the UK than in civilized places where you could get shot for doing so. Then the wonderful practice of arreting the beaten for causing the rukus in the first place. Like I said, typical

Ever been to Hyde Park on Sunday?
I believe that "Speakers Corner" probably still exists. I heard every form of free speech expressed the few times I was there. My experience with Brits is that they (over 30 years old) are not shy about sharing their opinions, no matter how caustic. YMMV...

thats why I find the article odd
not that he was assaulted, that goes with the course but it seems like in the last few years insane restictions are being placed on the brit public. like metric, euro's and no standing rib roasts that I find looney.
