UN peacekeeping force - planning - sports teams
Just in case the decision is made to send a western peace keeping force to Afghanistan whose mission would be to keep the peace between the warring factions, we can do our bit by suggesting some sports they might take up to pass the time whilst there.
My first suggestions include (please add your own) ...
1) The Khyber Pass marathon - run non-stop from Kabul to the Paki border
2) Hindu Kush hide n Seek - a game for 2 teams - one has to find the other & capture them before winter
3) Afghan plains line dancing - keep leaping ahead of the exploding mines
4) Clay Buddist Shoot - clay statuets & artifacts are catapulted into the air - game is to shoot them before they land. Due to lack of available shot guns, it is permitted to use alternative guns (excepting puff' the magic dragon & equiv)
5) Bull fighting (not for the squeamish) - bulls head attached to captured 3-times guilty thief - victims are given spears & told to fight 'the bull' - game time can vary from 5 minutes to an hour or more
6) 'Light's Out' - in this game the barrack lights get turned out, then flicked on by the current 'keeper of the switch', after long random intervals. The winner gets 100 points for each creeping mujahedeen captured
etc: etc: etc:
