The Blues lost Barret Jackman (what a great name for a defenseman!) for the season, including the playoffs. He joins McInnis on our lengthy disabled list. They were are 1-2 defensemen last year with Pronger down. He'll really have to step up now for the Blues to have a chance at making a run. Fortunately the Worcester Icecats are a defenseman factory

Jackman needs extensive work on his left shoulder. One wonders if his shot will recover. I think shoulder injuries tend to be fixable, but we'll see. In this case it amounts to tightening the tendons that hold the ball in the socket - no bone damage. It's very easy to loosen those - one simple dislocation of my left shoulder makes it easy to pop the ball out temporarily.
