New Me too!
I like country people. Most of the idiots I know are not country people.

I've never even met someone I considered a hoosier... I wonder sometimes if it's a myth made up or something, because all the people I know who live out in the country are the sweetest, nicest people. And I know quite a few!

New Re: Me too!
It's definitely NOT a myth. I almost tangled with one at a Rams party last year. He's in jail now.

New Ah but I see the difference
You're talking about hoosiers who live in the city. I just read your description, and see, I've never seen anyone like that in the country. So my statement was I think it's a myth that all country people way out in the boonies are hoosiers.

I don't doubt the existence of them, just haven't seen them, in the city OR the country.

New A Hoosier is

I've never even met someone I considered a hoosier

A Hoosier, by simple definition, is somebody from the state of Indiana. You know, it's "The Hoosier State", and most residents consider being called a "Hoosier" a compliment.

New As stated
..it's different here.

Could be the local derogatory aspect stems from migration of Mormons. Wherever they went, Mormons were mostly reviled by the local Christians, until they got so far West that any survivors were welcome.

New I didn't know that!
Thanks for the explanation, Lincoln. :)
