requires a lot of documentation from your doctors as to why your physical condition prevents you from working. You must also explain why you cannot work in the disability paperwork. Your doctors must order you not to work.

The more messed up you are, the better your chance of getting disability. My wife has a cousin who is older than her and can barely walk and has a number of ilnesses and was able to get disability. But he has low blood pressure, a heart condition, a weak back, and is over 300 pounds.

The pay will be based on how much SS Tax you have paid over the years and how close to retirement you are. After 65, you cannot apply for or collect it anymore, which should not be a problem for you. Consider over $1000 a month at least. You won't get rich, but you will get some money to live on. Get a cheap apartment and watch what you spend. You can get a part-time job and earn $700 a month, but any more than that gets you out of disability.

With your leg you should be able to get that handicaped sticker/hanger for your vehciles.

Good luck.
