Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Not sure...maybe OSX?
OSX was a quantum leap.

Hope you enjoy the ibook - (what OS does it run ?)

I think it runs OS X, or at least that is one of the things across the top in a task bar, it says Mac OS X. I can ask his dad for sure.

I'm happier with it now that I have the mini-mouse, but I was so not dealing with the touch mouse. LOL!

P.S. I feel spoiled, though. Computer in bed, CNN in bed, this is the life.

New a common misunderstanding

Ah, my dear, that's not life, that's media and electronics—very nice things in their own way, to be sure, but as I was reminded on my own recent vacation, life is people, life's outdoors...do we go to New Mexico to watch TV? Even CNN? One hopes not.

Still, it sounds as though you are enjoying the novelty, and though I am in certain respects a baleful character I would not begrudge a young person the opportunity to catch up on world affairs, so I wish a continued pleasant holiday to you and yours.

cordially,
Die Welt ist alles, was der Fall ist.
New Well.... the people are more to themselves here.

Well, I agree and for the most part, I'd rather be doing things with people. However, it seems that John's families are for the most part, very quiet and to themselves. You can get a conversation started, but you sorta have to work at it, and the biggest event at his mom's house is going down to feed the goats. ;) Unfortunately, the 14 dogs try to come too, and as you have to walk down this steep concrete staircase made of huge rocks, well... I decline.

We are going to attend a Christmas Eve service with his mom and stepdad though, in a 200 year old church. His mom is in the choir, so we'll have some people interaction then.

His dad's family is very quiet also, mostly sitting on their own computers or watching video. They do also take walks down the cliff sometimes, but that I also decline. I can barely cope with the drive!

His dad did go to lunch with us the first day we were here, but for the most part, we see them at breakfast, and here and there throughout the day, and they do their thing and we do ours.

So in effect, it's kinda like being at home, only we're staying in someone else's house. However, I did go meet another friend today, just got back. We met a friend of mine whom I met through Y and R, at the Owl Cafe in Owlbuquerque! It's an awesome restaurant!!! Has a giant owl on top of it! I got some T-shirts from it, and they really say Owlbuquerque!

So for the most part, we come up here to see the obligatory family for the holidays, shop at the Mervyn Stores (John prefers his clothes from there, and we don't have one in St. Louis), and let John eat REAL New Mexican food ;) And it's beautiful scenery out here too, the mountains are awesome!

It's much different when we are home with my family, who are very interaction oriented, so this scenario out here took some getting used to for me the first couple years. ;)

Still, it sounds as though you are enjoying the novelty, and though I am in certain respects a baleful character I would not begrudge a young person the opportunity to catch up on world affairs, so I wish a continued pleasant holiday to you and yours.

Thanks Rcareaga, I enjoy CNN when I can see it, and ESPN too, (I'm crossing my fingers that I'll get to see a Penguin or Duck game while here), and it is nice to hear the news right away for a change. When the earthquake happened today in CA, I knew right away from CNN whether it was near John's brother or not.

You have a great holiday too!

No, you seem to have made an odd number of sign errors.
