New Re: Picking up thje ball again in Iraq
Let's not do it half-assed this time. Those inspectors should be armed. They're police, not guests. If you refuse an inspector access to a site, the inspector shoots you. Any questions?

And then the inspector's buddies shoot you, and your crew.

So what are you planning to do about that?

And if you say "bomb the shit out of them" or something similar, then what do you do when Iran now decides that you're too busy with Iraq, and Libya decides you'll be too busy with Iraq and Iran and Afganistan......

New The alternative to taking them all on...
Letting them terrorize us into oblivion.

No sir. Don't like it.

Sometimes "tolerance" is just a word for not dealing with things.
New There are lots more alternatives.
Iraq is *not* a real threat to us.

Nope. Not at all.

Is it to the oil? Sure. Israel? Betcha bippy. *Maybe* even Europe.

But not to us. Our issue is completely moral.

If we left Saddam alone, we'd not hear anything about him. No terror needed.

The problem is that running in, guns blazing, works in Quake - sometimes. Not in real life. Where there are lots of other issues. If Egypt and Jordan are attacked from the inside, and Iranian style regimes are installed, then we've got *big* problems.

So we have to tread somewhat lightly - because we are somewhere where a lot of the locals don't want us.

Starting a full-scale war, unsupported with Saddam (because of inspections) is not a good idea.

Starting one (Hopefully with NATO support, if its proven Iraq had something to do with the attack) isn't a great idea, but its at least BETTER.
