Tens of thousands murdered, and you can say is "so what?"
And why not? The Republican presidencies of Reagan and Bush Sr. didn't care that Saddam was murdering tens of thousands of his own subjects - just as long as he kept using his country's oil revenue to buy millions of dollars in arms from the US government. They knew about it and did squat.
while carping on a minor detail
Being lied to by the current president as to the reason that we needed to go to war against Iraq "is such a minor detail"; it reminds me of when Reagan and Oliver North allowed Central American dictators to export tons of cocaine to the US so they could afford to buy US weapons to "fight communism", which they turned upon their own people. Just another "minor detail", right? Or have you forgotten about a guy named "Noriega"?
You would have said "so what" to Auschwitz, just because we didn't fight Germany over that precise issue.
We didn't know about the concentration camps at the beginning of WWII, and the US didn't enter the war right off the bat either. About Saddam's mass murderings, we've known about them for years. Nothing new here.
Come to think of it, you *are* a Nazoid.
Ah, insulting me rather than debating with facts. Good strategy there.
Thank God you're not in charge of our country's foreign policy.
If I was, I never would have sold millions in weapons to Saddam in the first place, nor secretly supported the Islamic fanatics fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan in the 1980s, nor would I have lied to my country's citizens about the reason we had to go to war against another country that didn't attack us in the first place.
But that's because I'm not a political hack cutting billion dollar tax breaks to the industries that have contributed heavily to my election, and now re-election, campaign funds.
