This is getting worrisome - its raining choppers in Iraq !!!
Just off the nightly TV news here in Sydney Australia - a vague report of another chopper going down in Iraq but no details on possible casualties or number thereof - a rather strange report (because it lacked any details)
#2 later report says 4 dead 2 injured, was near Tikrit, no explanation for how the Blackhawk went down ...

Also, I was going to paraphrase another 'bizzare' press item from today's Sydney Morning Herald in relation to a new book about Jessica Lynch ("I was a soldier, Too"), stating that she was analy raped (based on US medical evidence) but that she has no recollection of it. It also implied (bluntly) that her broken bones were inflicted on her by her 'enemies' after capture (but she has no recollection of it).
But, she does remember that nurse who used to sing her to sleep in Hospital & also that the doctors tried to take her to US lines but turned back when 'jittery' US troops fired at them.
Reason I didn't end up posting it was that I came to the conclusion that 'someone' was sending someone else up in the way the press report was worded. It was either the journalist trying to impart a sense of 'fantasy' or there is a movie soon to be announced. Sad part is that the way the story unfolded, anything said now has no credibility

Helicopter going the way of the dreadnaught

We've invested untold billions in helicopter infrastructure that is basically useless against an enemy even approaching parity with us. They are barely useful against renegades with tote weapons.
Where are the voices to point this out?
Helicopters are slow, fragile, and inherently unstable.

This is curious.
