During the bad fires (about 1997 I think) our part of Turramurra went up in flames. Was over at the brother-in-law's house helping them prepare to evacuate - there were burning embers floating down as we gather the last of their valuables. Burnt a few marks into the back lawn. Luckily no houses suffered in the area that year but it sure gets the adrenalin going.

Was out of the coiuntry during the last fires in the area so was able to avoid the worry.

So, the folks in Calif who are being hit sure have our sympathies.
