This guy seems pretty normal by Oz journo standards. They are a most arrogant bunch here.

Some of them truly believe that they run Australia & that we elect parlimentarians for the press to manipulate & control :-)

Actually, some may be aware that a few years back one of Australia's most prominent IT journos (Gareth Powell) was drummed, humiliatingly, out of the business & the country for plagiarizing other journalists work and also was proven to have been paid by Microsoft to have allowed them to publish lead articles written by their own people, under his name (back in mid-late 1990s).
MS admitted flying Powell to London to review Win95 for the Australian computer press!!!. Later there was even a newsgroup devoted to flaming this guy (aus.flame.gareth-powell).
