Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Expansion? (For the Administrator)
Scott,

I would have sent you an email; unfortunately I haven't been here as much as I used to be, and can't find an address easily.

What are your terms for taking on new forums and/or use of the code? I have some friends who have experienced a similar event to the one that inspired the start of IWeThey; they've started a Google mailing-list Group, but I, personally, find it hard to follow and generally deal with. It would be nice to have the facilities provided here for that group. The size would be roughly equivalent to what's here.

I, personally, have neither the time nor the skills to administer something like this, and few of the other posters do, so it might not fly anyway, but I thought I'd ask. This is absolutely the best "small forum" I've ever encountered.

Send me an email: warlocke@mesh.net

Thanks.
Regards,
Ric
New Re: Expansion? (For the Administrator)
Well, are you thinking of hosting a board here (we can do that -- there is already another {defunct} board on this server), or setting up the software on your own machine?

New Re: Expansion? (For the Administrator)
Scott,

What would you charge to host another board here? At present, it's very small -- only 38 members (I thought more, at first). It might grow, but I think not.

One issue is that most of the members are wannabee writers, and are paranoid about search engines exposing their work and eliminating "First Serial Rights." I don't know what to do about that. The mailing list currently used, on Google Groups, only allows members to read posts as well as restricting posting to registered members.

I personally have neither the space, the expertise, nor the Web connection to host anything. The others are in pretty much the same boat, although something might be found.

This might not go anywhere. But I thought I would ask.

Regards,
Ric
New Umm, that should prolly be asked of...
Me.

As this whole IWETHEY.ORG thing is on my machine and I am paying for more than half the bandwidth available... (made a deal with the proprietor of the place I have it at)

but then... who am *I* to say anything about it.

OSHA required I install handrails on my ASS... there is now a two(2) person limit during the ride. But the rides *are* still free. Please form a line.
New Re: Umm, that should prolly be asked of...
Sincere apologies; I wasn't aware of that. Thank you for clarifying. And I did think that since this was the Administrivia conference, the information would be available somewhere.

As I said, I'm trying to explore options. If this isn't one, so be it. Part of the reason I asked is that I really like the way the site works, even if I haven't had much time for following it lately.

Ric

New Restricted access would be an issue right now.
I don't have any quick way to restrict access to particular logins.
