Yeah, watch that sound.
Injured myself back in the day.
One of the catchier tunes from Grease was on the radio, and without concious thought, I began to sing along. I was fine doing the Olivia Newton John parts, but the transition to Travolta's key did bad things to my vocal system.
At the costume shop, we like Grease better. We rent and sell vast numbers of poodle skirts. Star Wars, well, not much. Since Episode II came out, we've had two calls for Star Wars related costumes: a Leia and a Luke. For actualy watching, Star Wars.
But not Episode II.
The Flash Gordon* movie with the Queen soundtrack is better than Episode II, even if you don't count the soundtrack. Ishtar is better than Episode II. Plan 9 From Outer Space ... no, now I'm exagerating.

Flash Gordon!
Now that was a cool movie.
Hokey, but cool for a pre-teen kid.
Emperor Ming was evil, his daughter was very hot.
I'd watch it again, just to see Ming's daughter.

I got to see Buster Crabbe in person in the late 1950's.
Besides the Flash Gordon role, he also played as Tarzan. He was at some kind of swimming event at the East Side Boy's Club in NYC. A couple of us followed him after he left, walking to the nearest subway station at 14th Street and First Avenue. At the time, it was amazing that he used the subway.

Re: Flash Gordon!
Of course I meant the 1980 version. I think I was a hormone charged teen at the time.
Max Van Sydow was Ming.
Brunettes always turned me on (I'm married to one), but two in one movie?

Max Von Sydow
Heh.. I suspect that few will associate [link|http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hc&id=1800022160&cf=biog&intl=us| Max] with Ming.. most with Ingmar Bergman flicks [12!] - but his repertoire is astounding: If he hasn't, he should write a book.
Ming's daughter? How about Liv Ullman.. and a few dozen others.

Yep, I have that very dialogue and then the music on one of my favorite cassette tapes, Ballads For An Owl (and I consider it a story, thus a ballad).
Love it!!!

I know, and I adore it! John bought me the soundtrack and we taped parts of it onto my tape!

Beginning of Earth: Gaia by The Orb, too.
Ming: Klytus, I'm boooored. What plaything can you offer me today? Klytus: An obscure body in the SK system, your majesty. The inhabitants refer to it as the planet "Earth". Ming: How peaceful it looks...

Re: 1980 version?
Bah, that's just an imitation of real thing! :)
The old version is actually a riot to watch nowadays.
