New Why OS/2?
Someone was kind enough to send me a free copy of OS/2 Warp 3.0, and I've been meaning to install it. I want to see what OS/2 has for it, and what kinds of languages I can develop on for OS/2.

Some BBSes out there run OS/2, so I'd need it to compile BBS Doors for OS/2 if I ever get into that sort of thing.

So far according to Netlabs, there is a FAT32 driver for OS/2, a USB driver for OS/2, even a patch of the Linux Kernel and X Server for OS/2 also the ODIN 32 bit Windows libraries. Sounds interesting and I want to try them out.

New Re: Why OS/2?
Keep in mind that Warp 3 is a ten year old version of this operating system, and will most likely give you problems with newer hardware that didn't exist 10 years ago. There is also only dialup networking support available in the base Warp 3 product. It will give you a taste of what OS/2 is today (see [link|http://www.ecomstation|http://www.ecomstation] .com for the newest version), but shouldn't be used to judge its current capabilities.

You can get the last publicly available cumulative fix pack for Warp 3 at [link|http://ps.software.ibm.com/os2fixp/softupd.html|http://ps.software.i...fixp/softupd.html]

Another site that is excellent for detailing all updates for OS/2 is [link|http://www.warpupdates.mynetcologne.de/english/warpupdates.html|http://www.warpupdat.../warpupdates.html] Though most current updates are for the newer Warp 4, MCP (Merlin Convenience Pack, a subscription only update version of Warp4 from IBM) or eComStation versions of OS/2.

Yeah, let's watch the lamp. It's more fun and less predictable.
