lately I've encountered a bunch of mp3s that when burned to disk as CD audio do not play back
when played as mp3s they sound much more distorted than regular ones
my suspicion is that rights management s/w was used by an unsuspecting person
anyway when looking for s/w to convert ogg to mp3 I downloaded a program that does that and more
(google for ogg to mp3 conversion)
I also used the s/w to convert the 'bad' mp3s to wav
not only could I burn them but the distortion was no longer present
