. . I and others predicted this would happen - if there wasn't a continuous feed, as there was from InfoWorld, of new persons and new topics. How this can be emulated is a difficult problem, but it must be solved or IWeThey will fade into irrelevence.
That time is not so far away. For one thing, I have noticed a continuous decline in traffic volume in Area 51, replaced by continuous heavy traffic for pissing matches in the non-technical sections. This accelerated after 9/11.
I find it very easy to ignore the "Topical" section entirely, since the noise level is very high there, and the signal rather weak.
