Getting elected depends on buying a lot of media. What happens if the local media monster favors some other guy? What if you have no competitors to turn to with your dollars? How good you are at fund raising doesn't matter any more, does it?

The handwriting was on the wall weeks ago when one of the media monsters banned the Dixie Chicks. Congress critters loudly denounced the move, because they could easily see "Dixie Chicks" replace with their own names.
