New Why a smoking gun should not be necessary
[link|http://www.kvia.com/Global/story.asp?S=1369491|A case in point]

Excerpt:

Capitol Hill-AP -- A congressional probe concludes that no single piece of information could have prevented the attacks of September eleventh, 2001.
The Senate-House report says, "The joint inquiry did not uncover a smoking gun." Instead, sources say it spreads blame across the federal government, from intelligence agencies' failure to share information to the F-B-I's failure to focus on a burgeoning terrorist threat inside the U-S.

One detail in the 900-page declassified version of last year's report has to do with some of the hijackers. The report says an F-B-I informant knew two of them but didn't know they were terrorists. The men had been linked to possible terrorist activity, but the F-B-I apparently didn't know that.

I say:

Go tell those 2800 plus victims of 9/11 all about the burden of proof.

DEAL WITH IT.
Never mind all the mass graves. Where's the nerve gas?
I helped depose Saddam. Did you?
When the facts speak for themselves, only a fool insists on having a debate.
The future is leaving the station, the US is at the throttle, and the Left isn't on board.

New So when do we invade Saudi Arabia?
Seeing as no credible connections (who was it that used the distinction about evidence and allegations?) exist tying Iraq to 9/11 and they do exist to tie in Saudia Arabia, isn't this somewhat like beating up the class dweeb to retaliate for a spitball from outside the classrom?

Where were you in 72?
New I'm with you on that one... if you're sincere.
Let's show the house of Saud we mean business. And the sooner the better. Can I hear an amen, brother?

DEAL WITH IT.
It's time for the US to infringe on the sovereignty of Liberia!

New Is my country on the hit list?
Considering 2 UK citizens are going to be judged in a secret military tribunal and that a suicide bomber in Israel was British, the UK is clearly a breeding ground of terrorists. Presumably, the UK is not on the axis of evil list because of their help in current wars. But what happens if a trade war breaks out and relations become cold? My country has well funded nuclear, biological and chemical weapons programmes. The smoking gun could be a large number of mushroom clouds. Does that mean the US might pre-emptively strike?

But we must kill them. We must incinerate them. Pig after pig, cow after cow, village after village, army after army. And they call me an assassin. What do you call it when the assassins accuse the assassin? They lie. They lie and we must be merciful to those who lie.

New Of course,
Right after Mexico and before Canada

New How much truth is there in your flippant remark?
Is that kind of thinking really common in the US, where anybody from an allied country who attacks US interests should be stripped of their citizenship and protection? Do a number of people really think that US rules are the only rules that count?

Shit, we'll send our own citizens to Gitmo if they piss us off on the wrong day.

Implicitly condoning stupidity since 2001.

Heck, the White House has/had plans to setup laws that will let them strip US citizens of citizenship whenever they want.* To them non-US citizens don't have rights, just privileges that can be revoked at whim.

Jay

This is in the Patriot II act, a draft which the government has refused to discuss since it was leaked to the press. Taken at it's broadest reading, the majority of American's probably could be stripped of citizenship under those rules.
