The interview seemed to go reasonably well. Couldn't promptly recall names of prev supervisor, partly because the reporting-to was entirely theoretical and involved no verbal or written reports in either direction.
Interviewer (an engineer) said there were "no negatives" in the interview. Final comment: "If you don't hear from us within 2 weeks, call." Ummm? DOn't call us, we'll call you, unless we don't and then call us?
So today I'm trying to stop a drip in the pool pump, when the cell phone rings. Am I interested? Should they mail me the offer or would I be willing to come in and pick it up?
I went in and picked it up.
Well, I'm making less than I did at the last place, but I'm doing tech support and documentation, and earning enough to cover the basics. We'll see how it goes from here.
Nice timing - the mortgage company was starting to make foreclosy noises.
One scary thing - with the timing of everything, I won't get a real paycheck until September 1. I'll get one August 15, but it will have less than a week on it.
