"Travel reservation Web site Orbitz crashes"
Travel reservation [link|http://biz.yahoo.com/rc/030716/tech_orbitz_outage_2.html|Web site Orbitz crashed] on Wednesday in its biggest outage since launching two years ago, a spokeswoman said.
The site, which is owned by major airlines and has expanded aggressively into hotel reservations, quit working around 6 a.m. EDT on Wednesday and was still down in the evening due to a problem with Oracle Corp.(NasdaqNM:ORCL - News) database software, Orbitz spokeswoman Carol Jouzaitis told Reuters.
Orbitz and Oracle both said they were working to resolve the issue but did not predict when that would be. Oracle said in a statement that no customer data had been lost.
I'm sure that "the no customer data lost" is of great comfort when the they are totally out of business!
