The two companies he refers to were the import companies. If you worked for one of the two companies, the job prospects overseas (expat) were good. Locally, there were still a few good jobs created.

He's could have just said "I agree".

But today, the jobs go overseas, and NO opportunities are created locally. (I'm not sure I completely agree, but it is true that the two companies at least needed employees to unload ships, and today everything comes via Internet.) But then again, Fedex annouced an increase in business and profit. So the winners are Fedex and UPS?
