Machine hibernates on demand. I'm hoping it works, because hibernation is a realistic possibility on a gigantic disk.
Out of hibernation - fine - it seems.
Modem don't work. It's there, it responds to diagnostics, but post-hibernation pre-coldstart Windows cannot use it - extremely peculiar. The idea hits me immediately that hiberation has been taken too seriously by segments of the OS. So..
Cold start - modem lives. We scratch our heads, and go on.
