I was just thinking about modifying a Knoppix install to do this... I haven't tried it yet, but I have been running openmosix kernels on my knoppix hdinstalled machines for a few weeks, now. I wish I had a 100mbs network, though.

New Hubs & network cards...
5 PC & 2 pc-card... 2 hubs.

Not really a big priority at the moment... One of the many incentives to find a better job.
