New Paranoid conspiracy theory
Or maybe not.
On the arrested aid workers in Afghanistan. Does anyone else find the timing suspicous? I have been wondering about this for a few days now and it seems strange that the Afghanis would just happen to have several westerners in detention for preaching a non-Islamic faith. I don't pretend to understand the thinking of a fanatical mind, but it would appear they have a built in bargaining chip. But then again, I know it was one of the Dillinger quintuplets that shot Kennedy from the grassy knoll.

New not so much conspiracy...
as rather an observation of events. Some people, I think, are attempting to show an escalation of world (particular Middle Eastern) events as a sort of trending analysis. The foreign aid workers being held, the destruction of Buddist icons, the sentenancing date of the 1993 WTC bomber, increasing Palestian/Israel tensions.

I think it indicates not a conspiracy....but rather a growing frenzy by some. With every next action having to be worse than the last one.

New Re: Paranoid conspiracy theory
It doesn't seem so paranoid to me, particularly in light of the way bin Laden plays up the religious aspect in the fax he sent today. From what I understand bin Laden is well enough educated that he should know the difference, and he normally rails against western culture. But the religious aspect will play well with the less educated Muslims, and bin Laden certainly knows how to play to the masses.

It actually seems more likely to me that the aid workers where grabbed to serve as a human shield, and the religious aspect has just been seized upon because of Bush's mistake in using the word 'crusade.' This poor choice of wording instantly cast a huge religious aspect over what was a largly secular endeavor.

New Re: Paranoid - Nope - fair thinking

My first thought was that the timing was too coincidental.

Same as the unbelievable coincidence of Masood being blown up 2 days before the attack. The plot to blow up Masood was a well planed and sophisticated one that took months to prepare & was carried out by a couple of guys who knew they would die as well.

Now either Bin Laden did this or the Taliban & Bin Laden did it. The Christian 'hostages' were it seems added insurance.

I don't believe the Taliban leadership are not completely in league with Bin Laden - these two are one & the same.

Cheers
