I'm betting the MAC address of the wireless PCMCIA ethernet card that I first used to set up my DSL account is stored in the !@#$% memory of the DSL modem somewhere, and I need to use the Linksys MAC masking feature to copy it. Stupid DSL modem.

Mac address is a sure thing for cable around here, but I've never heard of it being used with DSL, but I'm only familiar with ISPs in Southern California.
