Post #102,739 by cwbrenn 5/20/03 9:38:21 AM Reply	Upgraded Linksys Hub firmware -- now no DSL For some reason the Linksys hub wouldn't always do PPPoE correctly -- it wouldn't be able to log on, for whatever reason. I'd get around that by hooking the modem directly into my computer via built-in ethernet port, logging in, then hooking it up to the Linksys hub and trying again -- for some reason that worked ok. I updated the firmware hoping it would work. Now it doesn't work at all. I mean, the wireless part works just fine -- computer can connect to hub just ducky. Hub cannot, alas, log on to net via DSL via PPPoE, at all, not one bit. Grrr. "We are all born originals -- why is it so many of us die copies?" - Edward Young
Post #102,769 by cwbrenn 5/20/03 11:35:31 AM Reply	!@#$% MAC Addresses I'm betting the MAC address of the wireless PCMCIA ethernet card that I first used to set up my DSL account is stored in the !@#$% memory of the DSL modem somewhere, and I need to use the Linksys MAC masking feature to copy it.
