Fine, I'll fix it myself. I always do.

See, this is a real problem, as in, not a distribution specific issue, where Windows beats the pants off Linux - so the good thing to do would be to fix it.

This has clearly become the Debian forum. I'd like to have a real Linux forum.

New Oddly enough
My 3D acceleration works fine under Debian, with no fussing around, no black bars.

It sucked under SuSE, and that was after a lot of screwing around just to get it working at all.

But you don't want to hear that, do you. I'm with Karsten. Call us assholes, heap on the abuse. But don't come around expecting hand-outs afterwards.

The DRI/GLX drivers are in flux, as has been X itself lately - so your report is not surprising. It has nothing to do at all with the distribution - it's an XFree issue. I'm sure when I get to work tomorrow and dock, the 3D will look peachy on the CRT.
