Oh yeah

I've tried both myconfig=scan and myconfig=/mnt/auto/floppy (or some such stuff, typing from memory but I'm SURE I got it right).

I've done it fine using a USB flash memory drive. Now I'm trying to do it via floppy so my poor brother and his friends can play.

Have you done it with a floppy?

I told my brother "of course it will work" based on my own experience with the USB memory.

He failed. He's legally blind so I can't expect his reading skills to be that good. So I tried. And failed.

Ooops.

I'd give him a USB memory chip, but not his friends, so spreading of the Knoppix word stops there unless I get the floppy thing working.

Well, here is what I find.

using: knoppix myconfig=scan
It tries to use /dev/ as the device. I am believing it's a script typo.

using: knoppix myconfig=/mnt/auto/floppy
It tries to use /dev/auto as the device. I am believing it's a script typo.

Going to submit bug to Klaus Knopper for this. Of course I am using 04-15-2003-EN for this. I'll be trying it with 05-03-2003-EN as well tonight when I get home. If it's has been fixed in 05-03-2003-EN I'll post about it for ya.
