New Finding / archiving encrypted Win2K files / folders?

Asking this on behalf of a cow-orker.

\r\n\r\n

Any particular tips and/or tricks to archiving, backing up, or transferring to a new drive (most specifically the latter). Apparently, trying to do this through Windows Exploder requires manual intervention for each found instance of an encrypted file/folder.

\r\n\r\n

Alternative would be a tool to find and identify such files. My normal suggestion of Cygwin's find would likely not be sufficient in this case as encryption state isn't a testable property to it.

New Calling Ashton. Mr Brown to the white courtesy phone, please
Maybe that suite of micro-miniature tools he used to recommend has something like that? Looked like it could have, from my browsing (months, if not years, ago) of their site -- but I forgot the URL. So, Ashton -- Na-no, na-no, come in, Ashton...?

Your lies are of Microsoftian Scale and boring to boot. Your 'depression' may be the closest you ever come to recognizing truth: you have no 'inferiority complex', you are inferior - and something inside you recognizes this. - [link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/content/show?contentid=71575|Ashton Brown]

Extreme Power Tools by [link|http://www.radsoft.net/about/xpt.html|Radsoft]. Unfortunately, I doubt whether it'll work on encrypted files.

My guess is K would need something written by one of the black hats...

Cheers,
Scott.
New Yup, that was it. Thanks! Sorry if it was no help, K...
New Ummm.. radsoft.net
Was what I was touting.. lots of compact powerful little [link|http://radsoft.net/products/| tools].

I think that Rick has suffered something of an epiphany though.. taking him through Apple OS-X and Linux and - general depression that, It All Sucks, on one level or another. But since he had various aps that would work for 9.x and/or NT - Am unsure if XP has any nastier-than-normal surprises.

Read thru list - unclear if some of his editing stuff would handle Karsten's query. As for an encrytion fingerer -?- dunno what could be done with some Boolean on one of his snoopers; say, looking for first few hex chars. that indicate a Spl. file? All I know is - every one I've tried seems bulletproof, fast - and with loads of options. His .docs aren't the greatest, tho. Snoop around site.

PS - far as migrating Doze, esp. if the CDs are long gone.. Find a simple way (other than having Installed it all at-first, via Clean Sweep!) - and I'd like to hear who's automated that PITA. Too.

Edit - didn't see replies, or stale date on this query.

My parents just came back from a planet where the dominant life form had no bilateral symmetry, and all I got was this stupid F-shirt.
