New New Screw of American Workers
The L-visa:

Why do we allow this to happen?

New Thought I posted the Computerworld article
about this a month or two ago. Still, it needs to be constantly posted everywhere so that it's in the thought process of every American IT worker, and to whatever political hack that they write to about this program. Something needs to be done before all of the IP goes overseas, and we're left with nothing but part time jobs at Wal-Mart, stocking shelves of stuff made in China.

New Re: Thought I posted the Computerworld article
All very well and good to send your manufacturing jobs overseas, but don't expect real people to work at Wal-Mart!

One thing about Capital Red in Tooth and Claw: its development is logical and inexorable, and it doesn't really love thee or me as it Follows the Money. These plaints would have a bit more piquancy if the same voices had been speaking out for the displaced blue-collar shlubs in the IT halcyon days of the late nineties...

New Is it any wonder I am considering selling Popcorn

But anyway, I guess they will have to pay them a larger salary than 8 cents on the dollar if they move them here to the USA on the L-Visa, otherwise they won't be able to afford housing.

It happened because we don't have enough active voters and people who care what our politicians are doing. More and more laws will get passed in favor of the corporations unless we do something to change our leadership in Government. Which means vote out the people who are passing laws in favor of the coporations.

New CompUSA
You should get a job as a tech at CompUSA. You'd be really good at it, and enthusiastic, and would make livable money - barely, but even so..

New Second that.
Norman is better qualified and *would* care enough to likely fix most of the complaints - and yes, going along with customer -- I have encoutered that milieu.

Hey Norman - any # here would write ya a decent recommendation.

And.. know what: [it happens sometimes] you just might garner a 'following', some letters to management and - a raise. You could de-BS the other drones you would soon be in charge of.

Go Fer It.

New Thanks for the vote of confidence
while I might be able to fix most problems that come in on the systems, I doubt I can do it fast enough to continue to be hired there. I usually take my time to find out the real cause of the problem, the suits don't like that. They want quick and sloppy, and don't care if it causes more problems later. With my disability, it makes it hard to think at times, which may make things worse for me.

Besides, I had applied there before and didn't get hired. I was never told why, but I think it may be because I am overqualified or something.

New Sure they'll be able to afford housing
They will live 2-3 families in a single house, work both parents, and live in the worst part of the city just to get a shot at living here.
