Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Tip for searching the old site
Don't know why it never occurred to me to share this one while it still might have been useful, but here it is anyway. (The following is for Netscape, it's possible to do it under IE but I don't remember the details.)

Open the bookmark editor. Create a new bookmark and put it in the personal toolbar folder. Give it a name, like "Google EZboard search." In the Location field, put the following (minus any line breaks you see here, it may cause the page to go wide):

javascript:void(q=prompt('Search terms:',''));if(q)location.href='[link|http://www.google.com/search?as_epq=iwethey|http://www.google.c..._epq=iwethey]&as_q='+escape(q)

Close the bookmark editor. When you click the link on your toolbar (assuming you have javascript enabled) you'll get a popup prompting you for search terms. Enter them and click enter, and you'll go directly to a google search.

Lines for other searches:

AllTheWeb search for IWeThey:
javascript:void(q=prompt('Search terms:',''));if(q)location.href='[link|http://www.alltheweb.com/cgi-bin/advsearch?terms=3|http://www.allthewe...arch?terms=3]&type=all&exec=FAST+Search&A1=%2B&B1=iwethey&dincl=ezboard.com&query='+escape(q)

Google, general search (Not IWeThey):
javascript:void(q=prompt('Search terms:',''));if(q)location.href='[link|http://www.google.com/search?q='+escape(q|http://www.google.c...q='+escape(q])

AllTheWeb general search:
javascript:void(q=prompt('Search terms:',''));if(q)location.href='[link|http://www.alltheweb.com/cgi-bin/search?type=all|http://www.allthewe...rch?type=all]&query='+escape(q)

Merriam-Webster dictionary lookup:
javascript:void(q=prompt('Word to look up:',''));if(q)location.href='[link|http://m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary|http://m-w.com/cgi-...k=Dictionary]&va='+escape(q)

Dictionary.com lookup:
javascript:void(q=prompt('Word to look up:',''));if(q)location.href='[link|http://www.dictionary.com/cgi-bin/dict.pl?term='+escape(q|http://www.dictiona...m='+escape(q])

PHP function search (how this all started):
javascript:void(q=prompt('PHP Reference:',''));if(q)location.href='[link|http://www.php.net/manual-lookup.php?function='+escape(q|http://www.php.net/...n='+escape(q])

I have these all under a search folder on my toolbar. Others can be built by going to you favorite site and inspecting the queries they generate. It takes a little knowledge of how forms are handled, but it's not too hard once you get the hang of it.
My official modern astrological sign is Telsat, with Defcomsat rising.
New Thanks a bunch!
