DSL Problems, Upgrades, and so on...
The upstream provider for the line that this box is on, DSL.net, is having serious issues. One of their three main POPs were in NYC, and they're having to do alot of rerouting. Thus, the problems.
We've put in a trouble ticket, but there's no ETA yet on when things will return to normal.
Also, I put in an order yesterday morning for a new Athlon 1.4GHz/266 CPU, and Motherboard (Asus K7V133), and another 256MBs of RAM. If everything works out (I get the parts on time, and have an opening this weekend) I'm going to try to upgrade this box on Saturday, the 22nd.
This will bring the box up to:
Athlon 1.4GHz/266
640 MBs RAM
17 GB Harddrive
Not too shabby.
Also, we have a redundant line there which is a 6MB up/down DSL line (through a different provider) that I'm going to switch this box over on. So, if you're unable to get to IWT over the weekend, wait a few days for DNS to propogate.
