New On Iraqi 'dirty tactics': King George bitter at Americans

King George's colonial commanders accuse some American colonials of fighting a 'bitter and dirty war' after taking a sound thrashing from the well disciplined & modern British forces there to quell the ridiculous and impractical colonial rebellion.

A report from Major Timothy Hallwood-Smythe fighting against rebels in the colonies of the North America

"These colonial ungrates and traitors are now using the most vile tactics to fight our brave and disciplined men" said Major Hallwood-Smythe. "We had been teaching them a good lesson in modern warfare and discipline but these wretches couldn't stomach it so then they ran away low lowly cowards and began murdering our troops whilst hiding behind trees and shooting at us. This is just unacceptable and the perpertrators of these vile acts will be punished severly when we catch them, which we will".

The favoured dirty tactic now being adopted by the worst segments of this colonial rabble seems to be to lure our superior fighting men to a place of battle, then whilst we are still marching to the open battleground to form our ranks for the fight, they attack in ambush from within the shelter of woods and trees without giving any warning, then run away - the tactic appears to be a cowarly 'hit them then run' tactic. These murderous cowards refuse to come out in the open an battle like true soldiers. They appear to have no undersatnding of how to fight a proper or gentleman's war. How can one reason with such murderous and ungentlemanly rabble. They are forcing us to deal harshly with them.

These are such evil people that some have adopted even more vile tactics. There have been reports that some even dig a hole in the ground and cover it over then as our troops pass by, they pop up and muder our unsuspecting men, then hide back in their evil hidden holes. Such cowardly deeds are unspeakable, but this is what we have to deal with.

Major Smythe added
"But, I know with God's will and our superior moral fibre we will prevail."

Footnote:
It was reported just after the above story was filed, that Major Timothy Hallwood-Smythe was murdered by one of these vile 'minutemen' who had been hiding in a tree. This person murderously 'sniped' at several of our brave men including the unfortunate Major Smythe. The perpetrator appears to have got away with this indescribably foul and murderous tactic.

(Shades of a past era when the US taught the Brits to adapt)

New Re: On Iraqi 'dirty tactics': King George bitter at American
Uh, that's a matter of poor tactical judgement clashing with special-ops fighting styles.

If the Iraqi soldiers were fighting behind trees, no one would complain, we would be prepared for it.

It's when they're fighting BEHIND WOMEN AND CHILDREN that the tactics get a bit dirty.

Also, the colonials were in fact farmers with their hunting muskets, not a trained military.

The European style of fighting was outmoded in the Revolutionary War. The approved method of fighting was to give each side time to form up their front, stand there looking at each other, and give the command to fire. A tactic guaranteed to result in massive casualties on both sides, not that the commanders cared.

Also note that the British forces were in fact attacking their own civilians.
New Aha so people like you do learn - pass it on to Rummy

RE trees - what fucking trees are there in Iraq.

Re fighting behind women & children - produce a *credible* report that substantiates this

Re Brits shooting at own citizens - they were fighting a revolutionary army or don't you know your own history

**************************************

The case for calling the Iraqis 'dirty fighters' is 'piss weak' as we Aussies say and you know it. What you & Rummy despise is the lesson they are teaching you.

My sympathy is with the grunts put there in Saddam's Sandpit to endure Poor Planning shit.

New Re: Aha so people like you do learn - pass it on to Rummy
Find ANY report that says they are NOT fighting behind women and children, threatening soldier's families, setting up missile batteries next to hospitals or in historic sites.

There are plenty of reports indicating they are in fact doing the above. Whether they are "credible" enough for you depends on how much the person writing the story hates America.
New You still don't get it - so you aren't learing anything

Saddam is 'unexpectedly' kicking ass & Iraqis are 'exepectedly' fighting back - - so much of the bleating & the propaganda garbage we produced has come back and bitten our asses.

You in particular (like Marlowe) seem to have no apparent ability to filter through our own propaganda - you like Marlowe seem to be slittle more than a conduit to spread it, the good, the bad, the lies and all.

So go on live in your world of denial - claim that the reasons behind Saddams 'successes' is "Waaaaaa - he uses 'dirty tactics'" and then spew up all the garbage of our propaganda that 'proves' Saddam is using 'dirty tactics' such as the hiding behind women & children crap.

Thanks Major Timothy, pity you aren't there to tell the Iraqi dirty fighters what naughty boys they are.

New Re: You still don't get it - so you aren't learing anything
I define "dirty tactics" as protecting yourself by putting innocent bystanders in harm's way. It's also called hostage-taking. It's obvious the Iraqi military has zero regard for the lives of the citizens they supposedly protect, and our military is surprised that the Iraqi military, after all the rhetoric, is really out for themselves and no one else.

The soldiers of our military volunteered to potentially die in place of you or I. They would prefer their own death to the death of an innocent citizen caused by their selfish actions.
New Snazzy little editorial

Yeah, it's an editorial, I'm allowed to post them if you are.

It's a good gauge of why the war isn't a pushover, or how well the prop machine is working, depending on your ideology.
New I predicted that!
I am a GOD!

Of course, it was a real EASY prediction to make. Even a lesser being could have seen THAT coming.

Did anyone here really believe that the Iraqi forces would keep their uniforms on and NOT hide in civilian areas?

*counts hands*
1, 2, 3, 4....

Ahhhh, I see. Any I suppose you people forgot that Saddam was a nasty person in charge of a nasty dictatorship supported by nasty troops?
New Re: I predicted that!
It's just that he is nastier than we ever thought, and we hoped his troops weren't nearly as nasty...but they are proving to be just as.
New So you admit you live in a fantasy.

TENS OF THOUSANDS of innocent people have DIED because of his policies.

Open a history book and LEARN what has happened before.

There is NO WAY that anyone familiar with his history would NOT have been able to see this coming.

And he did NOT do all of that single-handedly.

He had his TROOPS do it.

...and we hoped...
Hope has NOTHING to do with this.

The FACTS were available to ANYONE who did ANY research.
New Re: So you admit you live in a fantasy.
Uh, yeah, that's why we are fighting this war. Glad to see you're coming around.
New You are disconnected, again.
So, we're fighting this war because Saddam is SOOOOOOO evil.

But we didn't realize that he would act SOOOOOOOOO evil.

He's evil, but we didn't expect him to do evil things.

Yep, that sounds like your fantasy alright.
New Talking to yourself, again?
You aren't even reading my posts.

The underestimation was not of what Saddam would do. The underestimation was of how far his troops/Fedayeen would go, even to the point of killing their own civilians and soldiers.

And it may not have been that much of an underestimation...there is a large contingent of special forces performing covert operations in Iraq right now. They have been there since well before the battle, and are engaging Fedayeen with snipers and car bombs. There are things happening there that pale anything Hollywood could dream up.
New That's why you're living in a fantasy.
The underestimation was not of what Saddam would do. The underestimation was of how far his troops/Fedayeen would go, even to the point of killing their own civilians and soldiers.
But this has been done in the past.

Even BEFORE the "war" started there were "reports" that they might be staging fake "attacks" on their civilians and blaming the US for it.

But we are SURPRISED when they have no problem killing their civilians.

Fascinating.

And it may not have been that much of an underestimation...there is a large contingent of special forces performing covert operations in Iraq right now.
Okay, we were surprised, but not really surprised. And, if you would read the other articles, that "large contingent of special forces" is the reason why the "war" is having the problems it is.

Rummy vetoed the generals' request for more troops. He wanted a high-tech, small-footprint army to go in.

So that "large contingent of special forces" is a symptom of the failure, not the success.
New Re: That's why you're living in a fantasy.
You've convinced me.

No, seriously. That was a surprisingly lucid post. Not one hahahahaha.

I'm not ready to pass judgement on how the war is being run yet, but yeah it shouldn't have been a surprise. It was supposed to be a big part of why we went over there.

And spec ops is pretty handy in isolated situations, but you still need enough tanks and enough guys holding weapons.

I mean, geez, even in Starcraft or C&C you lose if you try to climb the tech tree too quickly. You gotta have marines on the ground or their "weak" units will destroy you. You'd think the military's wargames would include something along those lines.

Maybe they have a better idea of what's going on, but they certainly should have been expecting anything and everything. Mistake: underestimating how dirty your opponent will fight.
New At last! The reason for poor planning.

Big problem there, chief. History books are full of words with over three syllables. And tell about strange places too!
