Post #9,060 by boxley 9/14/01 8:46:03 AM Reply	How do we get Bin Laden The last time the US had to nail down the worlds most impressive terrorist was in 1910 when they captured Geronimo for the last time. The only way they could get him was to use apache scouts and Tom Horne. Perhaps we need to find an Afgan with a blood feud with bin laden and supply him/them with the tools to track him down so we can take him out. The Pushtin and Afridi folks of that area would rather eat a pig sandwich than forgo a good feud. He must have some enemies, lets make use of them. thanx, bill why did god give us a talleywhacker and a trigger finger if he didnt want us to use them? Randy Wayne White

Remember that it was thinking like that, that caused us to arm the anti-Russian rebels in Afganistan in the first place. As for enemies, I'm sure he has boat loads. Remember that the Taliban doesn't control 100% of the area of Afganistan. Part of the north is under the control of warlords opposed to the Taliban and it's allies. I'm sure any of them would be glad to attack bin Ladin. Jay

If we apply so much pressure the local government has to bend, that will increase hatred. If we apply violence, that will increase hatred. If we finance others, that will increase hatred (just look how much good financing and arming the Taliban did us). Perhaps not coincidentally, he was attacked by suicide bombers posing as journalists just before Tuesday's attacks on the US. Of course, then we'll have another yahoo on our hands, just like the last one. But we can give him the same treatment. But if, by some miracle, we've all learned something from experience by now, we'll do it promptly, before this one demolishes an office building. As long as we don't repeat our historical mistake of assuming our puppet dictators are really our friends. And just keep doing it until all the rival fanatical factions are used up. At which point, the Afghan people will perhaps be a bit the wiser. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. But it's worth a shot.
