New Re: Looking for a way to run diagnostics
Some ones that I know of, but I don't own:

Checkit Pro (Even has a DOS version)

Winprobe

Those two I don't have, but I used to in their earlier versions and they seemed to do great. But they cost about $100 to $300 depending on what version you get.

If I had them, I'd let you borrow them.

I am sure there may be some shareware diagnostic programs on the web somewhere that costs less, or are for free.

New Let me check my archives...
I own both. Or should I say owned. Converted my office to a bedroom a year ago and boxed up all my software. Now if I can find them...

Boxed up is too nice a word. More like, my daughter, who ended up with my office as her bedroom, dumped everything into boxes which were then thrown into the "family room". My office is now just a desk in the corner of the living room. As I've needed old programs, I've gone back into the family room and rummaged through the boxes.

I'll start looking.

New Downloadable Diagnostic software for Windows
I just found this link:

My father's system has a video problem where the screen turns all white in the middle of a game or web browsing in IE. He just installed DIrectX 9.0 recently, but it could be something else as well. I just found this site, hope it helps.

New Re: Downloadable Diagnostic software for Windows
Note, I downloaded most of these and they are mostly benchmarking programs that do little diagnostics if any and are mostly 30 day demo versions. But you might find them helpful in reporting memory and other things.
