I finally got SOMEONE that knew how to configure CISCO equipment... :)
Explained the ticket to him... he said "FEH... that's all the problem is?" He updated the Cisco IOS... and the ruleset... Just updating the IOS did wonders, I didn't know that Head-ends have 2+ completely redundant setups/banks... he just *HOT* switch to the new code and most of the probs went away... once he ignored the Super Duper Large ICMP packets. AMAZING
I "helped" him with a favor of judging his work to fix the ticket against the DSL head end...
When he got it right I said "D00DZ, yur 3l337"... and he laughed and laughed... This was an Old guy[1] there...
Instead of 300ms+[2] response from the Connection pool... we get ~average 60ms[3]... w00t!
This should prolly take care of the SSH funkiness and the Severe load times for thing (I hope)...
[1] He was 45 vs. 22 for the others I was dealing with
[2] from 300ms to 15.03 seconds response... sometimes out of order.
[3] Round trip for me from my house... to *z* and back. NICE!
