to the "Cult of Personality" examples, Stalin Pol Pot Mao Kim Il Jung both great and dear leader. This worship has all the hallmarks of religion so cannot de designated atheist as such.

New I think that was the point
In that, for the Communists, Communism was their religion. Note that he didn't use the word "atheist" but "godless". I'm the one who used that term.
