New arrggh - more MS "we know better than you" crap
I'm setting up a fax coversheet for our new fax system. They have a restriction in that the "fill in" fields(such as <toname>) cannot be done using a True Type font. However, Word shows a subset of the system fonts, and is skipping any non-True Type font. I checked the setting under the font folder for "only use True Type", and it's not selected.

Did some research and turned up [link|http://office.microsoft.com/assistance/2000/P51996.aspx|this]. Basically what it boils down to is this - Word will only show you the fonts that the currently selected printer supports. If it doesn't support it, the fonts won't be displayed. Heaven forbid you might be working on something that won't actually be printed.
