New Mozilla mail list font size?
I'm at my grandparents. I've updated their system to Red Hat 8.0 and set them up to use Mozilla. I've changed the default font sizes to a minimum of 24(screen res=1024x768) so they can read their mail. However, the list of email messages is still pretty small. Anybody know how to change the size?

New Don't know about Linux
I don't know about Linux, but in the Windows version it's controled by the system font sizes. It doesn't appear in the Mozilla application settings at all. I don't know if there is some hidden setting to override it.

In Windows it's the message box font that controls the size, color and type of font used.

New Try this.
Try adjusting the font sizes for the form text controls, probably the single-line one (I think they're separate). I think it was that in NS4.

"Ah. One of the difficult questions."

New Might want to try
Mail & Newsgroups

then Message Display

Try the "Bigger" setting. I tried it on mine, with Mozilla 1.2.1, but it just blows up the browser on Windows, gah! So I don't know if it works.
Also try changing to the variable width font there.

But I do believe that it uses the system settings for the font in the Mail forms, if you change that one to 24 points, it should use it. If not, holla at the Mozilla development team to make a tweak to change it. Maybe 1.3 will have it?

New /etc/X11/fs/config
found a reference to make changes in this config file.

1 - swap 2 lines in the font path, called "catalogue"
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi:unscaled
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi:unscaled

Had 75dpi first, now has 100dpi first.

2 - change default-resolutions, was
default-resolutions = 75,75,100,100
is now
default-resolutions = 100,100,75,75

I made those changes, but they didn't appear to work(logged out then back in) and then tried changed the default-point-size from 120 to 240.

I guess log out/in didn't restart the X server. Shut down the system to go out for dinner, and when we came back the fonts are now bigger. They don't look twice as big, so I don't think the default-point-size change is what made it bigger.
