Welcome to IWETHEY!

New So, at the next meeting, ASK your boss WTF they're good for.
New which would be a waste of MY time
Remember what I said [link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/content/show?contentid=43309|here], [link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/content/show?contentid=38993|here], and [link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/content/show?contentid=31231|here]?

I work for a person who doesn't give me work to do, bitches when I ask other managers if I can help them and they accept my offer, then has the audacity to whine about how I worked on projects that can't be billed to the customer team I'm trapped in. Or worse, when I got pulled into an internal pet project by a founding president back in mid-October, which was scheduled to run 3 weeks but took over 7 due to never-ending changes requested by Mr. Founder, I get listed on a team-wide email showing I had only 13% of last month's hours billable to our number one client without pointing out that the other 87% of my time was work for the company.

Even the manager I hired on to work for says that I'm getting screwed over, but also says that he's powerless to fight the politics to get me transferred back to him so I can really accomplish something.

Actually, I rather like women, and don't particularly care for men,
so I don't really mind that women are all completely insane.

New Trying every day
but without success. Most headhunters don't even call back or reply to email. I guess that they're overloaded with applicants and resumes.

Recent posts in the job forum highlighting my lack of new skills and on the job training were answered by Karsten saying "Do It Yourself". No argument there, but we all know the problem of facing an interviewer who wants to know how your skills were used in your last job. Most don't give a rat's ass about what you learned on your own; what they want is proof that you used the knowledge at your last employer (Heaven forbid that somebody trains you for THEIR company - they want you pre-trained on somebody else's dime).

I also posted a question about "cram" schools, you know, those "intense one week" training schools that charge several thousand USD and guarantee that you'll pass some certification test when you finish the class. I figure getting an official background in something like database administration, C++, Java, whatever might give me an extra foot in the door wherever I'm applying for a job.

Don't want to come off sounding like a whiner, but this place is waaaaaaay behind trailing edge in technology. We just upgraded to MS SQL Server 2000 2 months ago and the fuckwads at the Help desk/Network department STILL haven't upgraded me from SQL Server 7 while a few coworkers WERE upgraded. Emails and phone calls regarding this situation have yet to be acknowledged, let alone answered. So yeah, my frustration is showing.
