[Emphasis Mine] Microsoft witness Chris Jones, vice president of the Windows Client Group, argued that the Sun injunction would cause several problems for Microsoft. He said the proposed order, which would require Microsoft to add the current version of Java to any new operating system 90 days before it ships, could take longer than 90 days to integrate into Windows, thus pushing back its shipping date. Now they're worried about ship dates?

Quite frankly, the JVM install would take M$ sticking the executable in one directory, and adding one line to one config file. And I'd be willing to bet it would work for five nines of the installs without any issues - and minimal issues for the rest. No, Scott's got the long and short of it - Microsoft wants to make sure that it WON'T run...
