New Interesting column on taxes and economics
by a practicing economist
[link|http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=29869|http://www.worldnetd...?ARTICLE_ID=29869]
A subject area in economics, called the incidence of taxation, says that the party upon whom a tax is levied does not necessarily pay the tax. They might shift it onto some other party. That's precisely what corporations do. They are merely tax collectors.

New Walter Williams lays it out simply.
My only problem with him is that (in the past, [link|http://www.jewishworldreview.com/cols/williams041200.asp|elsewhere]) he didn't think DOJ had business going after Microsoft. Turns out DOJ now agrees with him.

New Yeh, I read that one. OK by me if parts are your own.
Not OK if they are someone else's. The Chinese "harvesting" of executed prisoners comes to mind.

Profiteering from donated organs falls into the same category as "harvesting".

New Re: Walter Williams lays it out simply.
I think he's crazy. The black folk would say "Uncle Tom".

The meanest of mean cops in the 'hood are black, as harassed blacks will tell you.

New A nice, general, theory.
Those who want to see higher productivity gains and higher wages, of which I'm one, should champion tax reductions.
But tax reductions WHERE and on WHAT?

That always ends up being the issue.

Everyone wants to lower taxes (well, most everyone).

But "taxes" vary from income taxes, sales taxes, capital gains taxes, real estate taxes, corporate taxes, etc.
New Stop being silly
But tax reductions WHERE and on WHAT?

Where? On the wealthy. What? Income and the things they own/buy.
Why should we ask our military to die for cheap oil when the rest of us aren't even being asked to get better mileage?
